BOOK WEEK CELEBRATIONS

“Books, glorious books! We love to read them!"

Reading is a vital part of a child’s learning experience. Keeping this in mind, ‘Book Week’, was organised in school from 20th APRIL 2017 to 22nd APRIL 2017 with great enthusiasm. A plethora of activities were organised to develop understanding of  how books can entertain and inspire all of us.Special assembly was conducted wherein students were apprised of the fact that every genre of book is important and, if we allow them, books can open up worlds to each and every one of us. Students visited the book exhibition put up by Scholastic Books and picked up their favourite books for reading .These 2 days showed that the enjoyment of books can bring us all together. These fun- packed activities like Story Narrartion, Designing Bookmarks, Treasure Hunt Game etc provided children with lots of words, adventure, activities, expansion of knowledge and enjoyment !!

LABOUR DAY

HONOURING AND FELICITATING THE HARD WORK OF MTS EMPLOYEES


To commemorate the Labour Day and to appreciate and thank the selfless service of the uncles and aunties, who work with full dedication and ensure the hygiene and security of school, the students of SALWAN JUNIOR SCHOOL, NARAINA celebrated Labour Day in the first week of May.

The program started with a special assembly to express gratitude to the employees working in the school followed by the solo performance of Bhajan recital by one of the worker. The employees were presented with cards and flowers by students of class V as a mark of respect.The event was designed to forge a better understanding of the labour community among our students who must learn to respect and appreciate their efforts.  

The school appreciates the hard toil put in by YOU throughout the year!!

Education holds key to economic and social growth. Quality of life of an individual is also governed by the education. Thus, to generate conducive atmosphere for overall personality development of the students, NAND KISHORE AWARD was introduced at SJS, to honor the best student from Economically Weaker Section.The award was bestowed to KARTIKEY TANWAR (III-A) for showing his dedication, hard work, and academic excellence throughout the year.

WORLD HEALTH DAY

WORLD HEALTH DAY: A HEALTHY CHILD IS A NATION'S PRIDE

“When health is absent, wisdom cannot reveal itself, art cannot manifest, strength cannot fight, wealth becomes useless & intelligence cannot be applied.”

World Health Day was celebrated in SJS on 7 April, 2017 to make the students aware about health,to inculcate values and to keep them abreast about health and hygiene. The day began with a special talk among the class teachers and their classes wherein students were made to realize the importance of basic cleanliness. This was followed by various activities to highlight the significance of the issue of good health and well-being. It was a unique experience to come together for one day to promote actions that can improve our health. The students celebrated it with great aplomb by enhancing awareness about it.

Active participation of young Salwanians were seen through their involvement in activities like poster making, creating advertisements and jingles, worksheets etc to reinforce the importance of Cleanliness and Healthy food habits.
