KIDS FOR TIGER WORKSHOP

Tiger population have plummeted around the world in the past few decades due to a myriad of reasons and circumstances ranging from deforestation, poaching, loss of prey, infectious diseases etc. A workshop on KIDS FOR TIGER on 4th September, 2017 in school premises served as a means to promote the issue of Tiger Conservation and help raise awareness amongst the students. This educational and interactive AV show by Ms. Yashika (Kids for Tiger),aimed to abreast the students with some necessary facts about the tigers and encouraged them to make small contributions towards tiger conservation in their day to day life. We at SJS believe that ensuring the survival of tigers is a shared responsibility and this extra effort was made to draw the attention of the future generation to the severely declining population of tigers and their ecostystems.

TEACHERS DAY
"The best teacher is the one who suggests rather than dogmatizes, and inspires his listener with the wish to teach himself."
On this day, we gratefully remembered the great educationalist Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose dream was that "Teachers should be the best minds in the country." Hence, Teachers' Day is very important for all the people, the students and even the parents, as the teachers lay the foundation for creating enlightened citizens for the nation. It is the birthday of a timeless teacher and the former President of India - Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
Teachers Day at SJS was celebrated with a special gesture of thanksgiving put forth by the students of class V.The day had an emotional and recreational touch. The students presented a series of fun and entertaining events. It started with a speech followed by beautiful poems. The cherry on the cake was a “Medley of songs” from old movies by our school choir which made the teachers danced with their students. The teachers were touched by the warm gesture made by all the students as they made each teacher feel special on this day.
