Hands On Experience- Pandora, The Exhibition...
Good art is
nothing but a replica of the perfection of God and a reflection of His art. And
what better way to do it than through children.
On the same lines,
Salwan Junior Public School presented a vibrant mix of art with culture on
Saturday, October 6, 2012: through an Exhibition- “PANDORA: the image
carnival 2012.” The entire
school was engulfed with glittering elements of rich Indian heritage and
culture shown through folk art and craft by our young Salwanians.
Tribal art and
paintings welcomed the gathering of proud parents into the school, paving way
towards our cultural gallery. Hand painted Warli art T-shirts with beautiful
bandhanwars, tastefully decorated dandiya sticks, wrapping papers and earthen
pots captured everyone’s eyes.
Handmade file
covers, bookmarks, variety of travelogues highlighted the eclectic mix of
creativity and imagination. Tiny tots also showed their ability to play with
ideas by way of geometrically designed table mats, wall hangings and carefully
crafted jewellery- boxes.
Preschool children
showed their zeal and enthusiasm by dramatizing a skit on ‘We- the Indians’ in
a colorful mix of costumes, which was encouraged by one and all. Decorated
hats, lampshades, folk art adorned paper plates, handmade paper bags, waste material
woven into useful dustbins, artificial jewellery designed on mount boards, tinkling wind chimes,
stunning mirrors, tiny treasure chests cum piggy banks etc were a few in the
list of show casement by school children.
Amongst the
creative splash of art and craft, the school also had a contemporary feel to
the entire gamut of exhibits by highlighting the importance of science in our
lives. Class 1V and V presented ‘Young Scientists’ corner emphasizing on the
fact “children never learn anything by being told, they learn by doing it
themselves.”
Variety of Models and experiments on Digestive
systems, types of teeth and structure, tidal waves, earthquakes and natural
disasters gave helpful tips and information with explanation of tooth structure;
digestive systems etc. were conveyed to the audiences. Also, working models of

most appreciated models were Bulb microscope, magnetic magic car, cup phone and
