Earth Day Celebration at SJS Naraina

“We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.”
Believing in this very thought, Salwan Junior School, Naraina celebrates Earth Day every year to instill in children the importance of preserving our planet for future generations. This year it was celebrated on a wider scale and extended as ‘Go Green’ week from 22-26 April 2014.
A special assembly was organized where the choir group of the school presented melodious rhythms on mother earth followed by a power point presentation and ‘save our earth pledge.’

The entire school was submerged into Reduce, Reuse and Recycle mode wherein children from classes KG- V took extra care and responsibility of using dustbins, minimizing the waste and keeping the classes and surroundings clean. An entire gamut of activities was conducted in the school to educate children about Earth and preservation of resources.

We have also recently tied up with an NGO ‘Family of Disabled’ wherein the thought of ‘joy of giving’ is instilled in our children by donating their newspapers every Wednesday and contributing to the society in our small way.
