English Festival
SALWAN JUNIOR SCHOOL, NARAINA
celebrated English Festival from 18th January to 15th February, 2016 to give an opportunity to the children to express their inner
self and to provide an interesting , innovative and creative environment to
them to promote and appreciate the use of English. The Festival was highlighted
with various activities empowered by the English Faculty. The Festival
commenced with the informative PPTon the ‘HISTORY OF ENGLISH’ followed by an
enactment to showcase the ‘IMPORTANCE OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE’ in our lives. The
students very clearly emphasized on the importance of learning the language not
only for the individual pursuits but for global affairs as well. They also
cautioned the audience not to forget their National Language, but to use it
together with the foreign language. During this festival students of all classes
enthusiastically participated in various activities such as Poetry recitation,
Story weaving, Elocutions etc. Role plays stimulates imagination, which
embraces the entire world and enhances students’ social skills and cooperation,
with this in mind students of classes III and IV were prepared for the role
play on some sensitive issues like ‘water conservation’ and ‘value of time.’
This was followed by an enriching tip given by students of class V to their
fellow friends to improve their spoken skills through ‘Shadow speaking.’ The
little ones were also geared up to display their talents through fascinating
fancy dress competition. To inculcate reading among our young salwanians‘Guess
the author and the characters’ was also organised. Many students very well
unveiled their writing skills by penning down beautiful letters of appreciation
to our brave soldiers. All the participants came out with flying colors in
their endeavours.Finally, the panaroma of fun and knowledge filled activities
to facilitate effective participation of maximum number of students came to an
end ,and the exhilarating month was culminated on the 18th
February,2016 with a melodious group song ‘ Evrerything at once’ by students of
CLASS V.
